About the 240-hour Transit Visa-Free Policy
is a policy implemented by the Chinese government to facilitate the entry and exit of foreigners and promote international exchanges and cooperation.
On December 17, 2024, the National Immigration Administration issued an announcement stating that starting from December 17, 2024, China's transit visa-free policy will be fully relaxed and optimized, extending the stay duration for transit visa-free foreigners in China from the original 72 hours and 144 hours to 240 hours (10 days). At the same time, 21 new ports of entry for transit visa-free personnel have been added, and the scope of stay and activities has been further expanded. Eligible personnel from 54 countries including Russia, Brazil, the UK, the US, and Canada, transiting through China to a third country (region), can enter China visa-free from any of the 60 open ports in 24 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) and stay for no more than 240 hours within the specified areas.

3. According to official policy, can I enter mainland China from Hong Kong?

10. How to choose between visa-free and mutual visa exemption?
